From the sound of it either 2 quads or possibly dirt bikes

with 3-4 people on board went thru the ice somwhere near snake or fox island around 4 am .
One lucky passenger found 5 hours later a drift on a patch of ice who had called 911 on thier cell.
Prayers to the families invlovled.

Two Dead in Lake Simcoe Outing
A middle-of-the-night outing onto Lake Simcoe proved deadly for two men this morning. The victims left a home in Innisfil about 3 a.m. and ventured out on separate dirt bikes. Unfortunately, they hit open water between Snake Island and Fox Island and plunged through. A third person who was a passenger on one of the bikes was able to scramble to safety. He reached a patch of frozen ice and was able to call 911on his cell phone. He still spent close to five hours on the lake before rescue crews located him after sunrise.
Police agencies are again warning the public that many waterways have not completely frozen over during this mild winter.

Our sympathy goes out to the families. Please be careful out there with the strange weather this winter. Everyone should be very cautious on the ice.
