HI ALL

HOW many off you do shore fishing..........?

I just love to do shore fishing.........its so mutch fun.....relaxing,,,,a lot less troble,no boat no trailer......no fee to pay to park at the boat luntch,,,,,no gas in the boat,,,,no waiting in line at the boat luntch......

you can go a lot off place,,,,,people wit boat would not even go close to there,,,,,

wen i am boat fishing a lot off time i am casting to the shore.....about the same place people are casting frome the shore....... :? ....

I think there should mabe a litle place on the site for some shore fishing tread..............there a lot off people that do not own boat....for all kind off reason........and they enjoy fishing,,,,,so they could,,,,see some fishing spots,,,,,,,fishing tricks,,,,,mabe join other shore fisherman,,,,,....

there is a lot off us that do both off them.........if you count ice fishing,,,,and shore fishing............i might go only 30% boat fishing.... ...........do about 35 ice fishing outhing.....and mabe 50+ shore fishng a year....aprox.......so there no way i go out in a boat 80 time............so shore fishing is a big part off my fishing experience............frome childhood to today.......

it could be for flyfishing........or just plain casting,,,topwater bait frome shore.....or just......a bait to the bottom and wait kind off fishing.....

this year i will do even more off shore fishing..........all kind,,,,,,cats,,walleye,,,,sturgeons......carps,,,,,,etc......

THERE is a great article in the outdoor canada magasine,,,,,2006 fishing page,69,,,,,,,,,great article......about shore fishing.....

AND it true that you dont need a boat to catch nice fishes,,,,

i no ist been true for me,,,,,,,,,i did catch my nices walleye and cats and sturgeons all frome shore,,,,,,,,,ottawa river or gatineau river.....

and some very nice trout frome shore to........... :P

Joco

I do as much from my boat as possible. If I could I'd live on it.

But I have done some shore fishing St John river Que- French river

Bonnecher river and some others..
But my favorite is a sweet little lake near perth where any time I can go at the same time of day , same spot on shore and for 30 mins get the most explosive walleye fishing I've ever seen

All in the 7lb and under range but I'm sure there are bigger ones

The place is amazing .....I'll have to take you there someday

Hey Joco, being boatless, thats how I usually fish. Your right, you can get to many places a boat just cannot. That being said, I do love fishing from a boat as its something I do rarely.

Joco,
You are man after my own heart. I almost exclusively shore fish/wade. I also bought myself a float tube that I get into often with a pair of swim fins which helps me get into more fish. I love shore fishing and would love to do more boat stuff but just don't have the funds for one yet.

Hi Joco as I dont own a boat as well all my fishing I made is from shore and a lot of time I caught more fish then the guys ho fish from a boats. I caught some bass pike walleyes muskie bullheads perch crappie you name it from shore. I think we just had to at the right place at the right time and I think the best time for shore fishing is early in the morning at the sun rise and during sunset.

Anytime you want to go fishing joco and you need a partner just send me a pm and all be happy to go fishing with you.

I do a lot of shore fishing whenever I can't be in my boat but the best investment I ever made was a small boat for pond fishing that 2 people can carry/launch anywhere. It opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

But still, I do love going to a good shore fishing spot and not having to worry about anything, just cast out and wait for the big one (or goby in my case ;) )

With my dad at work during the weekdays. I bike around all over to go shore fishing. Pretty much every afternoon you can find me at Champlain bridge if you want to meet up.

most of my fishhng has been done from shore ,so I take every oppertunity to jump in a boat.
I now have waders so that will open up a new world as well.

I find shore fishing as relaxing as being in a boat in a calm bay just dragging a jig+worm on bottom, just waiting for that familiar walleye twitch to wake me up so I can set the hook.

Same here!!

I shore fish at dow's lake, the ruisseau and a few urban ponds. I do even more wet-wading at champlain. Went there about 20 times in the summer and a few times in the spring. No brown trout but tonnes of bass and some tiny pike

Oh I know about shore fishin!!

It's mostly what I do!!

I fish mostly along the Rideau, as there are many spots you can drive to, hop out fish for a little while, then hop back in the car, drive a couple minutes and try another spot!

If you like the Rideau, I fish from the boat launch at Taylor park quite often, a great spot as long as there isn't TOO much boat traffic going in and out. I also fish at the launch in Kars on the opposite side of the Rideau, Long Island is also a good spot as there are many different areas to try there!

You can also shore fish in a lot of different places at Black's Rapids on the Rideau, and a few spots inbetween (near Riverside South etc)

Lots of great areas along there to catch em!!
