Hi folks, I realize this is probably a redundent point for 99% of you. When driving out on the ice, don't go zipping past peoples huts. Last night at Shirleys bay a black 4x4 went cruising within 20 yards my hut (7:45 PM in case your on this web board) and ran over my buddies rod smashing the s*%t out of it.

I'm sure this wasn't intentional, but all the same it's a big river, stay back.

Sorry Float the only thing I buzz are Sail Boats around Shirley's Bay! But you did get the colour right.

CClad put a booby trap out and they won't buzz close to you again the same goes for ski doos.

It really wasn't a big deal, and to top it off like I said it was my buddies rod not mine  The rod had a florescent tip Joco, but it was pitch black out.

Actually taking the fishing into consideration, it may have been the high lite of the night! "Oh, he's right on line to get the rod. "No he's the other side of it". Oh ya, he's going to nail it". Bang right over top!

Any way, the regs state that you can be up to 60 meters from a line, it would just stand to reason then to stay at least that far away from a hut

I had this happen to me this year on Wolfe Lake. My friend and I were right out in the middle with hundreds of yards of free ice on all sides. Some idiot in an old topaz drove by our portable (with reflectors on it) about 20 feet away doing about 50km/h. I can not for the life of me figure some people out. Sorry to hear about the rod CClad.

Isn't this exactly what happens in the summer season, only we're talking about being in a boat with hundreds of yards around you and getting buzzed by "some idiot" in a Sea-doo?? It's probably the same "idiot" in the winter on a snow mobile or ATV doing the buzzing. :?

You're right, orrsey, can't figure them out except to think it's an attention getter for a poor ego.
