every1 here with a boat.... what kind of boat motor...(an aprox weight would be cool) and what do you pull it with....

dont mean to be nosy...
just lookin to buy this summer and i want a general idea....

17 foot Lund Classic SS - 900 LBS
90 hp 4ST Merc - 275 lbs
Trailer - 600 lbs?

2006 Odysee is the current tow vehicle - 3500 towing capacity

Add in fuel gear and people puts us at 2200 - 3000 lb

So far so good

Heya tinbanger,

How are you finding the Odyssey going up and down the ramps? I have a 2005 model, and wonder about pulling a boat about that size.

I don't have a hitch on it at the moment, and wondering if it will be worth the investment at this point...

17 foot Triton Dv Magnum....deep v rides with a dream
chasin it down with a 150 merc 4 banger
ford windstar with tow package tows it bu barely
oh well we do it for the boat

any sugestions as to wether a 2003 ford explorer with a V8 fully loaded with gear and ppl should have trouble handeling the extra weight of a small aluminum ontop of the 8' popup it handles easily now?

Princecraft Pro 162 with a 40 Johnson and I tow it with a Santa Fe.

The only time I know I have a boat behind me is when braking, otherwise it is very effortless.

2004 Princecraft Pro 166 with 90 Merc 4st. Total weight loaded approx. 2000lbs. Pull with 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with a Hemi.... if you can afford the gas you don't even know it's there

I've got an 89 springbok 19.5' center console with a 99 evinrude ficht 115 and I tow it with a 2005 chevy trailblazer. The trailblazer is an awesome towing vehicule

I have a Princecraft 177 Super Pro DLX with a 115 Johnson I have been through about 5 Tow vehicles and the all worked just fine.

1997 GMC Sierra 5.0 Litre
2000 GMC Sierra 4.8 Litre
2000 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 3.9 litre
1996 Chevy 4.6 Litre
1988 Chevy 3+3 Crew Cab 350 CI Gas guzzlin pig

FYI a friend of mine tows the same boat as mine with his Buick Regal with the 3.8 Litre in I think he put a tranny cooler and air shocks in the rear for lift.

Have only launched twice both on nice concrete ramps .

This weekend will be on a gravel/sand launch in Orillia , but don't expect any issues .
Will need to be a bit selective on ramps but it pulls well on the road .The new trailer/tires make it so that I hardly know there is a trailer back there.

Haven't added the tranney cooler yet but plan to next month.

I've got a 162 PrinceCraft with a 40Hp Evinrude 4strk. I figure around 1500-1800lbs with gear.
Pulled with a Windstar 3.8Litre, Have never had any difficulty pulling, barely know the boat is there.
The only trouble is on steep unpaved ramps due to front end traction

Boat 1600 #'s, motors 600 #'s and rest 800 #'s for 3000 #'s on top of a 700 #'s trailler pulled by a 2004 Chev avalanche.

tow truck.............nissan xttera 4/4

xttera as a 5000pound towing capacity,,,,its good for that size truck...he those NOT work hard to tow my boat at all.....

I pull a real heavy fiberglass 16 foot runabout with a 25hp johnson on it, on an old heavy duty steel trailer with a 2005 GMC Envoy 4X4.
I usually forget i'm even pulling anything, and I often pass people on the 417 and 7 when needed without any issue what-so-ever.
I've loaded the boat with camping accessories and put 2 people and 2 100lb dogs in the back, and pulled the boat without any issue what-so-ever.
Even better is the fact that you can a buy a 2005 Envoy 4X4 for around 25k now, which is way less than most other vehicles and when its not being used for fishing, it can still pull 5-7 people depending on if you get the regular, or the XL version.
