My friend was telling me about a trout fishing spot in the Pointe au Chene area around Grenville sur la Rouge. Is there anybody thats heard about that fishing spot is it a lake, a river, a creek or or private lake is it accesible to everybody or is it a place that we had to pay to get there. Any information would be great as I might go there this weekend for the trout opening and what I should use to fish with lures or live bait.

The Rouge river has a great fishery. Being raised near the river as a kid, trout fishing was second nature to us. Starting from the settlement of Rivington to the mouth of the river at Pointe au Chene, there are many rapids , chutes, falls & eddys that all produce. Since white water rafting companies have " taken over " the area, it is not easy accessing the river. There is no parking along the river road anymore & most land is private now. There are some possibilities near the bridge at hwy 148. Trout are taken on flies & small hot shot spoons - red, white, gold & frog patterns have worked in the past.
