Batteries?

Anyone use the Optima or AGM batteries for their trolling motors or accessories? How do they perform, any problems? I'm getting sick of battery maintenance, I've had good luck with my 3 series 29 interstate deep cycle but I'm considering switching them out this year.

Get a trojan battery. A buddy told me about switching over to them, great price, exellent battery. Go to total battery in the east end, great staff there as well.

I would go with the Optima batteries hands down. These batteries are awesome and just keep going. I cannot saw enough about these batteries and how they perform. They are well worth the money...

zaconb,
I run 4 AGM batteries in my boat, great for pounding waves and maintenance free operation. They charge very quick, and for my electric trolling motor I have a charge on the run system that charges the two trolling motor batteries while the big engine is running.
They do not have the same reserve capacity as the larger flooded batteries, but have a few advantages - like easy maintenance and quick charging.
I only fish walleye so it is very unusual for me to run my electric all day because I have a gas kicker.

I have nothing negative to say about the Optima, Trojan or Excide (Nautilus) AGM batteries.
