I'm going up on my annual fishing trip to my Dads buddies cottage on Lac des Quinze next week...just wondering if anyone has fished it before and where did they have luck with pike??? I can find the walleyes with my eyes closed but have a hard time finding big pike!! Lots of hammer handles but nothing with some good size....let me know!!! Thanks!!

I fished that lake a fair bit way back when. had some Ok luck, but nothing fantastic on the lake itself. Good spot is near grassy narrows, at the old bridge. If you go across from Moffet, up the Rogers River, i've has some really good walleye and big pike catches. This is going to sound real crazy, but the best tackle i used on the Rogers River was lake trout tackle - a 3 ft. Willow leaf and a big Williams Wobbler. Really clobbered the big walleye and big pike.

A word of caution, that lake can be quite treacherous - it's long and very narrown and because the lake is largely man-made due to dams, trying to take refuge near shore can be dangerous - lots of stumps and logs.

Let me know how you do.

Hey Jabba!! Thanks for the info!! I've been fishing this lake for about 7 years or so but have never ran into any big pike...The walleye fishing in the lake is awesome right now!!! I've had over 100 fish days up there....if you ever go back run bottom bouncers with worm harnesses from Pointe Carniel to Pointe Maurice (if you need some maps let me know)...you will get lots of walleye at this time of the year....I'll try out the spots you told me about and let you know how we did....

I hear ya when you were talking about how dangerous that lake is....we have hit what looks like telephone poles (on a fish finder) in the middle of the lake when the water is low...scary!!!
