Fishing on the Ottawa

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fishing on the Ottawa

Post by Badger Shark »

Hi guys. I just joined this morning. I have been reading this site for a while now and it is definitely the best and most welcoming to people that I have found so far.

Clown worship and I get out at least once a week (usually on Sundays) I bought a 16' 7" alumacraft last year but did not get to use it much so this year we are out every week, regardless of the weather. We mainly fish the ottawa river up around Constance bay, does anyone have any good locations and tips for catching pike and walleye? I have been fishing this river all my life and certain fish are easier than others. If the pike, walleye or bass are not biting then I always catch big cats . I dont know why but I have always had a knack for catching these fighters.
We are headed for Lake Muskoka this weekend so if anyone knows this lake we would love some info and tips.

Like he said... regardless of the weather. Be it this weekends gale force northern wind, last weekend's monsoon on the St. Lawrence, Victoria Day's cold cold rain & hail on Crotch lake. If this keeps up we can start a charter: "All the hotspots in really miserable weather"

I heard it is supposed to be really good up around rockland area, but I have never gone there, and I wouldn't know where to go.

I wouldn't mind finding a good spot myself.

Welcome to Fishhawk

C. bay has all sorts of good fishing, you are pretty close to the bonnecher area, you might want to try there.
Always good fishing in that area!

Good luck at L. Muskoka , haven't been but will someday!
