Fish-Hawk.Net

This is my first report so you may have to bare with me . I'm not really sure how these images will turn out. I didn't bring my digital camera so had to scan these and I certainly don't have the literary gift that Moosebunk has, but here goes. This report is a couple of weeks old, I have been very busy. Anyway I had i couple of days open for a bit of a get away. So we were off with a couple of boats. We headed to a favorite spot up the valley after about 22 kms of skidoo trail and we're in The weather couldn't seem to make up it's mind and it really effected the fishing, at least that the story I'm using .Trolling big streamers till we were blue in the face. I couldn't take no longer and broke out old reliable. Gang troll and flatfish, I was called a quiter, but at least I ate that night The weather was great the next day a little on the cool side and windy but that helped keep the bugs down. The fish however were still not biting. The wind was blowing us around alot and it really made trolling difficult. At one point basiclly putting the boat almost on shore, and thats when I thought I had gotten hung up on one of the many shoals in the lake.So trying to spin the boat around in the wind in order to hopefully recover a 20 dollar gangtroll which felt that it was firmly planted into the rocks. But when those rocks tore off about 20 yrds of line in the opposite direction I knew all was good. This guy came out of only 20 feet of water. We only got two other small rainbow, but it was a nice little get away. It just seems that prime trout weather is slipping away real fast. I was hoping to get out this morning up to Calibogie or Ompah but the weather network is calling for severe thunderstroms and tornados so I'll see what the evening brings and head up there for tomorrow. After all it is Father's Day

You really made quite an effort to get into some nice waters, troutbum. That's a great laker and taken in such shallow water is a bonus.

I agree with you about the weather being a little too hot for trout near the surface....just in time for bass season!

Troutbum good work those are some real beauties. Fished bows today same weather and the trolling motor died needless to say no fish.

Nice looking fish, aren't those trout buggers to catch. Such a finicky fish, any change from one day to the next and you have one heck of a time to get themin the boat. Looks like you got a couple of good one though. Well done!!!
