Well computer has been in the hospital lately so I have not been able to post my last couple trips. Well its fixed now so let me tell you a little fish story or two
Been planning a little troutn outn with a old fishin buddie called Gramps who helpd me catch my first trout way way back. So I kinda owe him a good weekend out. We head up to my fav area for some browns, some specs and some bows. We show up to the first lake about 6pm and set up camp and its looks like the weather is going to hold out for us according to Gramps

We set up camp and hit the lake and start trolling for browns using lures.

The browns are hitting bugs and leaping out of the water like its boiling, some jumping over a foot high. Well Gramps ties on sinking fly and trolls that and within no time ties into his first brown trout ever.

Not bad at all for his first. We continue trolling and we hook into several more before turning in for the night.

Were fast asleep dreaming of monster specs when drip, drip, drip. Oh did I mention Gramps said the weather was going to hold out. Maybe he forgot to mention the weather warning. It was pouring rain like mad and the tent was giving out dripping all over. With my feet soaking in a huge puddle I layed there in fear thinking that I was going to be electrocuted by the lighting that was so fearfully close. Well we survived with two malfunctioning cell phones a canoe full of water.

Well the weather cleared up nicely and we got a couple more browns that morning before heading of to a little honey spot known to hold some trophy size specs. Gramps has heard me mention this one and is so eager to go that he luggs the canoe almost a kilometer through the bush to fish it with me. We launch the canoe and start trolling maybe 5min. and Gramps hooks into a log
but the log starts to pull and then it starts to run. Gramps in disbelief of the way his rod is bending is saying"no way this is a spec I never had a spec fight like this". Well after carefully playing this mystery fish it comes up to the surface and rolls this is one big bad speckled trout. The spec is not ready to come in diving every time it gets close to the canoe cutting back and forth. Gramps pacemaker is beeping and I think the fish is going to be the end of him thats when Gramps brings him close to the boat one more time and I scoop him up with the net. What a spec almost 20 inches long, biggest one gramps has ever seen. Now were is that damn camera. Looks like I left the camera in the car I guess you will have to take my word for it.
After a couple more specs we pack it in and cook up big feast at the camp site. You can only eat so many hot dogs.

Of course before dinner I had to get a shot of Gramps big spec once we got back to the car.

Gramps not only gets his first brown but also a big speckle, dude was so happy he downed three cold pops before I even had one.
Well we got skunked for bows sunday after the trolling battery finally gave out but man what weeknd.
