Thanks all, just seeing the pic brought back the rush. Methinks, I just might need to go shopping very soon. I'm thinking a 2nd mortgage on the home should suffice for a proper muskie fishing setup.
Wolfe, just how many time do you think you can get away with calling me a goofball before you get a rod-whipping yourself?
I'm still charged up from the whole experience and to boot bass opens very soon! Ah... gotta love the summer!
I bet you do and next time you go out for bass and you spend all day pulling in 1 -2 lbs bass you'll have an empty feeling you never had before.
Get your act together, get the proper gear, learn to use it and then let's go bud and get some more.
My casting rod has an Abu Garcia 6601 and I found it a bit harder to learn than my low profile baitcaster but after pounding the water for 6 hours I started to get tot he point where I was happy with how I handled this larger baitcaster and trust me you'll need a good size one to throw out musky baits.
I used to troll for musky but have found casting for them to be a bit more exciting.
Let me know when your detup and I'll take you out for the day and we'll see if we can't break the 40 inch mark.
