Am I CRAZY???

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Am I CRAZY???

Post by FromTheNorth »

I've been checking the regulations almost every two days hoping the words might change. Division 12, bass opener last friday in june.(june 30th) Division 9, bass opener last saturday in june.(june 24th)

Is that right??? Because there must have been 7 boats fishing exclusively for bass on the Ottawa river this morning. (No Fish-Hawk hats though. I love this community!)

Can someone please tell me if i'm right about ottawa river opener, or if infact I am crazy!!!

Thanks guys and gals,

The Ontario Regs and the Quebec Regs are very clear that June 30th is the opener for Bass on the Ottawa River.

Yep, no bass till the 30th. Of course when we were on the Ottawa this morning fishing for pike and walleye what do we end up catching 3 oos smallies, big ones too, so we ended up heading out in to deep water to try and get away from them and hooked one more. So that was it we headed in to go to the Rideau instead, and nothing, go figure if bass was open on the Ottawa it would have been a great day but it isnt so we go to the Rideau and nothing. We suck!!!!!!!

Last week end I was on the Ottawa in a back bay training my dogs when I came across two big bass boats two guys in each, and they were all throwing Texas rigged worms on mono into structure! Pike fishing doubt it, funny thing is they weren't even trying to hide the fact they were targeting bass

Reminds me of when MuskyMatt and I headed out on the Ottawa and saw a pair of guys, (obviously) fishing bass, deep in the slop. Matt kindly informed them bass wasn't open yet. They responded by flipping us off. Really great guys obviously, just the type of class you'd expect from a fisherman.

I mean, c'mon bass opens pretty soon, is it really THAT tough to wait another week? It's reassuring for every knob like that you meet 10 decent anglers who have a bit of respect for our waters.
