Not being an avid bass fisherman, but having caught the bass fever again, I would like to know what your favorite Frogs are? What hooks do you use for wacky rigging a Senko? What are your favorite plastics to texas rig? How about crankbaits?? I used to use a CC Big-O!

I just started using baitcasters again, I still have 2 Abu Garcias that are 17 years old and they are still in mint shape. But they are nothing compared to the newer ones.

Not a frog, but a Torpedo in the frog color. My favorite bait! I use 1/0 EWG hooks for senkos, whacky style or texas rigged. I couldn't catch a fish on a crankbait to save my life!

Scum Frogs are great baits but you might find them a little lite if you are just getting used to your baitcasters for bass fishing. I have been using the Tournament Frog and carry blacks and whites. They are bigger than the Scum Frogs and actually look more like a frog, more like what tip-up put on display.

I don't wacky rig senkos much so can't offer good advice on a hook type, though Bobber likes to use the Strike King hooks with the spring guard. I always rig my senkos weedless with a 3/0 or 4/0 Mustad Ultra Point Offset worm hook like this one...

When I am convinced that wacky-rigging is better I may do it more often but one thing I am convinced of is that when I wacky-rig for smallmouth bass I wind up with more gut-hooks to contend with. Am I slow on the hook-set? Maybe!

My favourite plastic bait? Six inch and 7 1/8 inch Pumpkinseed BPS Stik-O

My favourite crank bait? I love a floating rapala in perch pattern on a calm evening or morning.

Just saw the web site and the colors look good and the outward point of the hook (to keep it from diggin into the frog) seems like a great idea, gonna have to get me a hand full!

Do you use these things with a leader or without?

That's true FH Sleded had trouble chucking the original but he bought some tournament frogs and they worked well for him.

I am tossing the scum frog on an 8'6 Compre with a Shimano Crestfire & 30lb stealth so I have no troubles casting it a long ways.

A big, purple or pink CULPRIT worm TX rigged & fished slowsly is simple, and oh, so tempting! Even on slow days, you can usually coax a bass or two to the boat with this classic bait.
