Outboard Service

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Outboard Service

Post by lobb »

I blew the prop in my outboard aboout 3 weeks ago and the service shop (not going to mention any names) had originally promised to have the unit back to me within a week and a half.

I phoned yesterday and was told that it still has not been looked at and won't be for another 3 weeks.

Does anyone know of a reputable service shop to have this looked at? The outboard is about 20 years old, so I know not ever place will look at it.

Thanks!

Nope, it's another shop which will remain nameless as I don't want to spread bad word about them. They are simply swamped with work and I need the motor dealt with by Friday of this week. I was told it was only the prop assembly which needed to be done (a little over $100 work I was told).

I just need the work done before the holidays and summer run out...

You could try Port of Call Marina, they fixed my merc. when my lower end seized, I had it back within a week.
