Mike B.'s 48" musky catch & release!

At last!!!
Got this beautiful 48" Musky in the boat on "Lake X"
She hit one of my 10" Musky Snax Brown Suckers off a rubble pile jutting out from some lilly pads.
Lost another mid forties musky a little earlier but this made up for it!
Quick fight thanks to my Musky Stix rod and my lovely girlfriend on the Frabill Kwik Kradle.

The Stealth Tackle leaders by John Bette are awesome and they don't foul up as often as the straight wire I used to use. Great job making those John!

She went ballistic when I lifted her for the pic and I got my hand twisted backwards...ouch! Only way to keep her still was the good old Dadson hug which made me nice and slimy! Gotta love it!
The fish swam away strong to grow into a fifty+ one day.

Sweet fish. I have never caught a musky but sure would love to. I have had two strike the same bobber , maybe I should put a hook on it.

Glad you enjoyed the pics folks!
I make it a point to actively promote C.P.R. (Catch, Photo, Release).

The best part of catching that fish was that I caught it on one of my own Musky Snax glider jerkbaits. It hammered a Sucker replica on the third pull.

Here's a little tip for any angler working a shoreline...
Remember that what you see along the shore will have similar extentions out under the water. If the shore has a gentle slope, so will the bottom under water and same with a steep breaking shoreline.

I caught that fish casting to the rock pile visible in the pic of me holding her. I assumed that the rocks would continue out under the water for some distance and rock/weed combos are generally hot spots for musky.

Beautiful, big, fat 'lunge. Congrat's. And a big pat on the back for a quick landing and successful release. Good job!

Noticed you landed another nice muskie later, as well (your more recent post). Your g.f. may be the charm...

She's quite a good luck charm and she's awesome on the net too!
I'm going to see about getting her a nice shirt from Frabill who is my sponsor for my Kwik Kradle net and my lure retriever. She might as well look the part!
