Fish-hawk pike and musky derby Sept 9

So anyone want to get into a derby for pike and musky on the Rideau on September 9th?

This would be a great chance to meet some people on the board and get in some time hunting toothy critters, have some fun and make new friends and maybe even get some bragging rights too with your picture with the winning fish posted in this forum.

We'll all meet at the Kars RA launch in the morning, say 7am whistle blow and fish till 12 noon and then we'll find a meeting place to divy up the derby money, say a local watering hole.

Rules

1, Have fun and be friendly
2, One derby entry for pike and one for musky, you can do either one or both.
3, Have fun and be friendly
4, Digital cameras are prefered but a witness to fish size is sufficient, biggest fish is based upon length
5, Have fun and be friendly
6, Please practice catch and release but no one can force you to since you are legally allowed to keep pike
7, Have fun and be friendly
8, 100% payout for each fish species
9, Have fun and be friendly

Do you get the idea? this is a fun get together and a great chance for many of us to meet for the 1st time and for me to see some old friends I haven't seen in a while. I am going to use this opportunity to get someone out in my boat who doesn't get a lot of chances to fish from a boat and wouldn't it be great if others did as well?

So? Who's in?

Great idea J, ummmmmm why is it I seem to have a nagging subconcious feeling about having fun and being friendly?

I wish I could make this a sticky so it doesn't get lost with all of the other great stuff here.

You are correct kpin, I really want this to be a great reason for us to get together and have a great day and not a real competition or anything like that, just a fun derby.

Bear

Let us know what plowjock suggests, don't worry I am not going to copy you, I already have my go to lure and won't be using anything else.

Count me in for sure.

I have just notified the wife. She will of course ponder it and give me the final decesion. Which I will have to follow. She is the boss

I know normware and DaveH keep their boat at the same marina in Kars as I do so let's bug them to get on board for this and offer up a seat to a non boater.

Peppino and muskymatt, can I count on you guys too and het rider I know you'll be in too right :)

School starts that week for both my little guys and we'll have just gotten back from our last week-long trip up. Wish I lived closer so I could participate and join in as I know this is going to be a great time.

I hope there will be lots of pics...
