Otisco Lake Today; Brief Report

After hours of yardwork, Brian, Tiny Torpedo and I headed out onto Otisco Lake for a late afternoon excursion. I was hoping for a date with some eager tiger muskies, and man did I burn out casting. Not even a follow, and we tried all different depths and techniques. It wasn't meant to be.
So we switched gears and targeted some bass the last hour and were rewarded with a few largemouth. Nothing of size, but it was nice to get a little action after the 2-hour skunking. We all got to tangle with some.
In addition to the ever-present rockbass, Ty also pulled this better largemouth in on a TX-rigged YUM worm.
Not sure why the tigers were laying low, but they stiffed me today!

Clown Worship,
Too funny! Ty weighs
exactly 50 lbs.
But yes...it is always fun to watch the boys reel in their fish, particularly the nice sized ones.

To bad if you didn't catch a tiger muskie Wolfe but at least you tried and you had luck with bass and yes always nice to see kids like Tiny Torpedo catching some fish and nice bass to.

I love my YUM's !!`They always do the trick! How's the new motor working? My dad was looking into a 4-stroke the other night..very silent...
Great to hear from the Wolfe pack!! Nice fish too

Hiya Andrew.
We LOVE the new Honda 4-stroke. And yes...it is very quiet and so far has been reliable. We've really been getting our use out of it, starting at Charleston in May and then on several outings to Wolfe, once to the Rideau, plus our local lake, Otisco. Brian is very happy with it especially, as now it doesn't take what feels like
years to get to a spot on the far end of a lake. The 40 hp is plenty for our boat.
Thx for checking in!

Badger Shark,
Sounds like Clown Worship needs to get a little Italian coaching in the art of GOOD EATING.
Musky Sean,
anything better going on at the Moira these days? I know things were poor on account of all the rain... We're still getting soakers here.
(I'm not giving up on the muskies yet, but it'll be a week or so 'til I can get back at them.)

The fish have been banging pretty good here for the last couple of weeks now. It's a nice change considering how horrible June was!! Hopefully it continues right through fall.

Great Report Wolfe; Too bad the muskies weren't biting but it sure wasn't a lost day when you see that smile on your son's face

I think Fish-Hawk should run an annual competition of the best pictures of a members kid with a fish they caught. The winners could be judged by a vote by the members. Your pictures would certainly be at the top of the list.

Hey Suddsy...
Thx for the nice comments.
All those times in years past of taking the babies out in the boat has paid off. Ty is really into fishing now, is getting more and more into artificial baits and has more patience. We've especially noticed a change this past season, whereas he is getting to be more of a boating partner than someone to help out every few minutes (though there ARE moments...!)
Shane is getting more enthusiasm, too, and has gotten his 1st walleye and 1st pike this past summer.
Life is GOOD.
