good fishing line for the St-Lawrence

Hi everyone, well last week my wife and I went on the 1000 Island boat cruise on the St-Lawrence and now we’ve decided to go and try the fishing this coming weekend.
I have never fished this body of water and I did notice the water to be quite clear so I’m trying to figure out what pound test line would work best?
I usually use between 14 to 20 lbs mono, but when I noticed the water color and so on my fist thought was “I’ll need to change my fishing line to a low visible type of line like a Fluorocarbon “Seaguar†or “Vanish†to fish here!†or the fish will spook quite easily.
I typically fish for bass but obviously this is just a fun fishing day so anything goes, as they say. We will be launching near Rockport so if anyone can give me some good locations near by that would be great.
Thanks
