Headed out to Lake Ontario this morning with my neighbour Simon(Salmon) and had a blast. We started off a safe launching point because of the high winds from the weather forecast. Turns out the winds stayed calm so we headed out to Bronte harbour(20-30min boat ride)and nailed some fish(shinny's and rainbows).
We were only about a mile or two out in about 48 feet of water.
44 feet down on the downrigger was the majic number
Being it was the first time i had downrigged on the Great Lakes Simon showed me the ropes and we got into some fish.
Couldnt stay out long but the fishing died down around 10AM anyways.
Great weather and few boats out made for a great relaxing day.

bait schools held in tight in the morning. 40' right off the edge of the apts on the east side. As the morning light statred we found more bait scattered in the upper 30'. Fish were hitting from the side...we marked none of the ones we hit. We landed 5 for 8 hits. Most off riggers but a few off the dipsy with a green/gold stinger spoon set back 80'to 100' on the #3 setting. Great getting Mike out and we will do it again. :D
