I bought my wife a nice new Walleye rod this year, a Fenwick 6'6" Walleye. well on a cast this weekend it broke 3" above the join  Of course I never keep receipts for rods, I have never had a rod break before this, so I'm of to LeBarons today in the vain hope that they will do something about it. fingers crossed

If they won't help you out contact Fenwick direct and see if they can't do anything for you.

I just broke my Shimano rod a couple of weeks ago. Over 5 years old.

No receipts and nothing. Called Shimano and sent it back, and will have a new one soon. Just give them a call and let them know of the situation.

Over the years I too have ahd a number of rods break and had the manufacturer step up and send a replacement. This is what keeps you comming back to specific brands and stores-after sales service!...Larry

Hmmmm...

I'd have to wonder why anyone would buy a Fenwick rod if they repeatedly break without just cause???

All well and good to get a replacement, but they shouldn't break in the first place, unless they're defective or have been severely abused.

CCB- have used Shimano rods for 30 years and none broken yet...

CCB,

I had a Berkley pack rod that broke and was replaced by them at least 6 times... By the end I didnt even care if they replaced it anymore. I still have the rod, but I dont use it anymore. I bought a shimano replacment and I will never buy another Berkley rod again.
