Summer 2007 Fish-Hawk Gathering

I'll keep ths as brief as I can.

Last summer we had a fish-hawk adventure weekend camping at Charleston lake and it was nothing short of an amazing weekend.

Bobber and Fish-hawk find doing adventure weekends so much work and not much fun do to because of all of the work they have to put into everything that they have scaled back on the adventure weekends.

Well I find I really miss these events, lake Kashwakamak was a great time too but hey only one adventure weekend is not enough for me.

Since Joco has had some great success putting supper gatherings together I thought I might put out a feeler for next summer.

Who would be interested in a camping weekend at Pleasure Park on Graham lake, the bass and pike are supposed to be pretty good and they have a nice group site as well.

So this is just a feeler to see who would attend and if it goes well I would volunteer to organise it, say around bass opener so that us pike guys wouldn't be the only one having any fun.

Sounds like a plan for sure as long as my ole' hound dog can come, I see they have a no pet policy for cottages so hopfully it does'nt apply for the camping area.

Thanx Mr J for trying to get things happening again ...... pike/musky g2g
and now this ...... FH and Bobber should put this and the other post as a STICKY

And not to forget Joco's efforts

Next summer will be a fly by the seat of our pants kind of season, as we are hoping our cottage will be ready to utilize, but we aren't sure yet! Still, we are rolling the dice and NOT renting next year...at least that's the way it goes for now.

Camping isn't my thing, Mr. J  ....BUT....if we're up at the cottage I would definitely try to make the ride out to wherever you guys are to say HI and maybe join in the fishing if that were do-able.

I think it's great of you to try to organize something. Hopefully, there will be a good response. It is always a pleasure to get together a bunch of Hawk Talkers for some fishing & socializing!

I'm in and just to help out I live in Orleans and I have a BASS boat so I would be willing to offer a seat in my boat and drive someone who would be interested but has no wheels or boat.

Thanks

Sounds like it would be fun....

I probably wouldn't camp since Graham is about a 15 min. bicycle ride from home.

I bet you could convince Big Jim to make an appearance or 2 since it is his back yard.

Great to see so much interest.

I think I'll contact the campground and get some info on the rates for the group site and see where we can go from there.

Sounds like family fun,
I would try my best to make it, as long as my fishing and tournament schedule allows.

There seems to be enough interest in this that I called the campsite and asked my list of questions.

Here's a break down.

The group site can accomodate 10 - 15 tents

Reservations will start in April

It's a pay as you go set up, meaning not a flat rate to rent the group site you pay based upon how many paople per tent etc

Long weekends are tough to book but other most weekends are available (seems they are more geared towards RVs and not tents)

So I am pretty sure everyone would like to see this happen once bass has opened.

How does a weekend in July sound to everyone?
