A Tough but Successful Weekend
A Tough but Successful Weekend
I had Mike B. come up to the house this weekend to do some fishing. We figured with the full moon last Thursday that the fishing might be pretty good this weekend but mother nature threw a kink in that theory and it turned out to be quite tough. We managed to move some fish and hook up with a couple on Friday night and Saturday but couldn't manage to net any. This morning we got out around 7am and got back at it. In about 5 hours we only had 2 or 3 lazy followers and decided to call it. On the way back to my dock we decided to take a couple of casts in a promising looking spot that I had drove over hundreds of times but never fished. It's only about 4 feet deep so I put on my 11" shallow running Perch Musky Snax glider. On my third cast, about 20 feet from the boat this one came in and smoked it. It was a really cool looking strike and I got to watch the whole thing happen. It's amazing how when it comes to musky fishing that 1 fish at the very end of the weekend can make everything turn out fine.

Thanks everyone but to tell you the truth the fish wasn't as long as it looks in the picture. It was one of the fattest fish I've ever caught from here but it was only 43 inches long. The way I was holding makes it look a lot longer than that but it was almost 6 inches shorter than the last good one I caught. Here is another picture of the same fish that does it's length a little more justice.

Sean is the man when it comes to working big gliders.
His most productive bait thus far has been that 11" Perch Musky Snax.
It was supposed to be a one off custom I made him but he's done so well with it I decided to introduce it as a new size on my website.
I got an order for one of those and an 11" Walleye glider from a guy in Belgum!!! He wants them for fishing monster Pike.
Here's a look at that Perch Musky Snax he caught the fish on...

Don't get me wrong Badger... I enjoy every fish I catch and I'm never disappointed no matter of size or species. You know as well as the rest of us how difficult of a fish a musky can be to catch. As you can see in this picture that my smile is just as big for this little one than any other ones I've posted here. Regardless of size, every one I catch is special one way or another.Badger Shark wrote:Man you sound dissappointed in that fish, if i caught that it would make my year since i have never caught one and nothing that big either.
