No question, have grown to love capturing life through the lens. From age 0-20 my father was a professional photographer with his own business. The man of course still takes a good picture. Never did teach me much about photography though. Only rule I know was passed on from Troutslayer, "the rule of thirds." Great thing with digital is people can take crap shots and rework them into usable, and even great photos. Here's 11 sunsets and 2 sunrises. Try and guess the sunrises and add any of your own fave sun shots to the thread.

Awsome photo's Moose,
I think learning to take photo's like that would be awsome, especially after looking at those pictures.
I'm a photography "hack" aim, shoot, and get what I need in there....

I assume you use a fairly high end SLR?

thanks for sharing,

Senior Bunk, mighty beautifull pics my friend! I've always been a sucker for a woman with beautifull long hair and a great sunset/sunrise. I ty kindly for providing fine examples of one of my favorite things.

Hi Moosebunk,

Just saw this post.

The pics are, of course, stunning.

At the risk of exposing my suburban Jersey Girl roots, I will venture guesses that #'s 6 and 10 are sunrise shots.

They are ALL spectacular, whichever way the sun was heading.

W.

PS: I remember bits of that "rule of thirds", but can't recall the meaty part that counts! Figures...

By the way, I've got lots of decent sunset shots, but this is one of the better ones taken over Wolfe on Sept. 2, '02.
