Ice shelter/Shed update

So I am picking up the garden shed nex week to make into my ice shack. It is 10'x7' and 6'8" high in the center. I have to make runners and a floor and figure out how to attach the shed to it so it doesn't blow away .
Also just picked up an small older wood stove for free from www.usedottawa.com (awsome site for junk ) so heating is taken care of.
I need to makesome kind of bench or I might pick up a couple free recliners for the hut LOL. Also need to modify the door so it swings open instead of slides.
I have to bolt the whole thing together and get it started. Starting on the weekend of November 11th if anyone wants to help. Again anyone who lends a hand can use the hut in the winter.

there should be holes already on the base of the walls if not do what i did i just drilled some holes threw and screw the base to the floor, my tin shed is done that way and it's been there for years, as for the door i was going to take it off and frame it in with plywood and cut a door out of that, i think that or permently closing one door and just using the one slider door.

Thanks for the advice. I will try screwing it to the floor and making ine door fixed in place.

Before I get to far, someone please remind me to put holes in the floor to fish out of LOL

Hey JP, won't it be more trouble than good to move this around??. If you have the usual riding mower, garbage cans, empty beer bottles, rakes, shovels, maybe a snow blower...but that could come in useful some days... and all the other stuff that garden sheds tend to accumulate.

Why don't you just buy a "Fish-Trap" and be a happy ice angler.

yeah fish trap's are great....
couple freinds both have them and they get used just about every day in the winter.....
the fact that you can attach the 2 two maner's and basically make a 4 man hut is bad butt.

Thanks Jim LOL. I am not planning to move this one much and have already invested in a Trap for the coming year so when I hook it to the sled or ATV I will be mobile LOL.
As for the garden stuff, I only need a lawn mower to clear the snow LOL

usedottawa seems to be the place, i picked a manual up for $20 on the weekend, 6" but for a beginner it will do, i know there are a few still on there

Sp i picked up the wood stove today, heavy bugger . It was a great deal FREE LOL. I pick up the shed saturday afternoon and I am good to go. All I have to do is make a floor and runners and reasseble the shed and mount it to the platform. I have some plexi glass a to make the windows and tin for the stove pipe.
If anyone is thinking of doing this here is what i am doing, please let me know if I am doing anything wrong or missing something.

Runners - pressure treated 4"x4" 12 ft long
Floor supports are 2"x4" x10' (8 qty)
floor 5/8 plywood 4'x8' (3qty)
Total price $132.67 tax in

J.P. From experience I would reccomend you angle the fronts of your runners at about 30-45 deg. so it will not plow thru the snow. As for the floor think about the holes...whereever you want them you should box them in for strength and easier to put a lid on that way. You will not need to have such a thick flooring with the 2x4's run horizontal eg. 2" flat to the bottom...does that make sense?? If your shack is 10' then only need the runners that length...anything else becomes a tripping hazard.
