So, what's the verdict?
I love the fight of a pike and (personally think pound for pound, the smallie wins for a good fight).
Nailed my very 2nd catfish this year fishing the Ozilles derby with Fishhawk and was actually surprised the fight the,5lb/r gave me...made me rethink fishing cats, since I never targeted them. Gained a new respect that day and humbled me to target some fish that I didn't consider "worthy" b4.
So what's the best?
Salmon
Muskie
Pike
smallies
largies
etc.....
Now rem, we're talking about the fight pound for pound.

When you are talking pound for pound I think that Bluegills and Pumpkinseeds put up the best fight.

I'm gonna go with Barbel, but you'll have to go to europe for those. One of the very, very few things I miss being in Canada.

I would go wit a sturgeon for number one...but its hard to compare.
sturgeons
small mouth bass
blue guill/crappies
eels
carp are fascinathing to..
drum.
i would say pound for pound.mabe the musky is the lest hearty,,

and the lest taught guy,,,,,,,,a fight and is almost dead.

but is got more teeths,,,

,,he those some good head shake,,but no long run usely,,and tired pretty fast,,
sturgeons,,,,,cats,,,,eels...are so tuff.....jee i saw some in the back off a pick up truck and was still live the day after..
imagine catching a 50 inch,crappy.......

or bass....

Sturgeons for sure. 2lbs sturgeon will kill a 2lbs smallies and smallies don't get this big........................

MMMMMMM IF A SMALLIE GOT TO BE THE SIZE OF A STURGEON OR A MUSKY WE'D NEVER GET THEM IN THE BOAT NO QUESTION IN MY MIND BASS AS BEST FIGHTERS

I have to agree with joco on this one.
Sturgeon are by far..and I do mean BY FAR..the strongest fighting warmwater fish.
In fact, it's the non-game fish that fight the hardest. I mean honestly, compare a 35 inch pike to a 35 inch gar - there is no camparison!

Sturgeon is a strong fish for sure, but 2 years ago I had a 2lbs Ling on my libe and I sure was hoping it was a Walleye cause it would 've been a big one.
