Ice fishing at night??

Hey guys

Just a quick question.

I often work overnights and on my days off I'm stuck staying up all night. I want to head to the ice hut and drop a line. What are my chances?? I get bored and just want to fish so I'm thinking just go out and drop a line.

Do the fish bit at the wee hours in the morning let's say somewhere between 9:00pm and 4:00am???

Let me know as I have access to 2 fishing huts on the ottawa rivers. When it freezes

Let me know what you think of night ice fishing

Thanks all

You can expect walleye, ling and crappie at night thru the ice on the Ottawa. :)

Glow in the dark lures sure help in other areas. Charge the lures with a camera flash.

As the 'Zog mentioned, you can catch quite a few species at night... I haven't had any success with crappies at night on the Ottawa but walleye, ling, and the inevitable OOS sturgeon take your live or dead offerings right thru the night...

Good luck!
