Muskie Is there a club, group or a couple guys or ladies in the Ottawa west area that meet,get together on a regular basis. my buddie and I would like to try to catch a few of them this year. thanks

Muskies Canada has meetings every second Wednesday of the month at the Legion in Bellas Corners, Further West the Valley chapter has great meetings as well

I joined Muskies Canada 2 years ago and it was the best move I have made in a while. You will meet a lot of like minded people, and get a lot of help on your quest.You will also learn the latest info on taking proper care of these beasts.Also when you are spending your hard earned money on Muskie gear you will learn what works and what does not. Make the move you won't regret it.

You have an option, as mentioned above there are 2 Muskies Canada chapters in the west side of Ottawa.

The Ottawa chapter meets every second Wednesday of the month at the Bells Corner Legion and the Upper Valley chapter meets every third Wednesday of the month at the Arnprior Legion.

Both are basically the same with a great bunch of guys and only differences may be that the UV guys tend to fish out that way more and the Ottawa guys fish east south west and in Ottawa.

You can't go wrong by joining MCI it's a win win situation for all muskie anglers of all kind of experience.

You won't find a friendlier bunch of guys than the OV boys. Kert in Arnprior is a great guy too. The meetings are a lot of fun and if you want to learn how to catch a muskie there is no better place to learn.

Just a word of precaution tho'. Muskies Canada sometimes tries to lobby the MNR for very prohibitive regulation changes that are not based on scientific research. This is the only reason I no longer support the club. PM me if you have any questions.

How many years was he with the organization?
I think he was someone's right hand man?

Old man,there is some good in MCI,although many of the doers have left,I suspect they will return when things mature somewhat from within the organization.
You will gain valuable experience and knowledge in proper handling.Being very familliar with all chapters and at the time the doers,Kert Lavigne from Arnprior still has the spirit and essentials for making interesting meetings.
The basic fundamental values of what he offers are the essentials that made MCI

Marc..I got this position because I volunteered , and wanted to be more involved.
As I have said before .....
Marc unless you were born with the second to none experience with muskie you have and flaunt then you should not be so quick to critizise the up and new comer...as you were surely in a postion where you too were climbing the muskie ladder.
As I said Marc with time comes acquired knowledge, I may not have the background that you do , but I am here ,learning , helping , concerned and involved.
I haven't turned my back on MCI only to sit on the sidelines and critizise those who are in a position I was once in before.

MCI is a great organization with excellent intentions and as in politics, Marc, if you don't go to the voting polls you have no right to complain on the outcome of the election.

One question. Why would you even feel the need to respond to a comment from a small fry like me??? No big fish listening anymore???
