Couldn't find anything on the town web-site for this year. There hasn't been a Catfest for a couple of years now I believe.

Wow!! A catfish get together sounds like a hoot. Count me in. Let me know when and where and I will certainly try to make it.
I guess one would need some special equipment for this type of thing.
Lawn Chair
long rod
good reel
big cooler
lots of ice
road pop
stinky bait
Am I missing anything??

Something I think you missed was someone to catch the fish...When I was a kid I used to fish catfish in Almonte near my home and never had anything fancy...An old rod and reel(6ft) some 20lb test and a bunch of worms and we never had a night without one. Is technology really helping or just costing more??

You must have had wealthy parents. I had a stick with tobacco tying string to fish the Big Otter Creek at Port Burwell when I was a wee lad.
If you can believe it my dad used to commercial fish out of Burwell in the late 40s early 50s so you know we were not rich.
Did learn how to smoke home made cigars in the kiln yards during tobacco harvest though.
Who cares about catching fish if you are with good people having a good time and not working. I didn't mention hooks either.

:D Do you have 200 more friends who could come, too??????????????

We need more input and some certainty of people showing up????

Also you would need a boat.

Lets work on it for a while.

I'd be down for some cat action!! Last summer I caught a 5lb catfish on believe it or not a surface lure while fishing for Bass. Never thought that would happen, boy was I surprised.

Count me in.
I have a boat and would be happy to have a shore bound fisherman or two join me.

200 more people? I don't know what you had in mind Mike ..I was thinking more along the lines of 10-20 boats .

Also, boat won't be a problem :D
