What DON'T you want to find in your boat..........

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

What DON'T you want to find in your boat..........

Post by IanD »

...when you take to tarp off it?
I was thinking about this this morning while sitting in traffic on the 20.
OK, the boat was shrink wrapped and that should have kept any critters from turning the Lund into a winter condo. I think I took all the scents and scented baits out of the various storage holds, but I'll be darned if I can remeber if I took out the egg salad sandwichs and Joe & Louis I had made up for the final trip last November. I know for sure my lucky hat is in the live well. It really bugs me cause now I'm not really sure if I have to make a lunch for the first outing.

Critters

Post by Seaweed »

Good tip to keep critters out of your boat

Put in a bunch of Cling Free sheets

Not sure what it is with those things but the wiff of them keeps the critters and mosquitoes away.

I have always left them in my boat and have yet to find critter traces onboard the SS-Seaweed

It leaves the boat smelling fresh as the morning air in springtime too....

Someone slap me!

A squirrel...squirrel droppings.

A mouse family, smelly mouse nest...mouse droppings.

A year or two ago, my brother discovered a mother cat and her kittens under the boat tarp.

Close Joco. I used to see these a lot in Halifax, but didn't know they were out here too. These things creep me out. Here's a link with LOTS of pictures

I am just hoping the skunk I am trying to get rid of from under my deck doesn't decide to move under the tarp I put to protect the 14' tinny. oh I almost forgot, I sold that boat.  Just have to make sure skunks are gone before the new owner picks it up. 8)

Thanks for the link to the spider site - I'll have nightmares tonight  :)

I've never seen one before but often heard people talk about them (dock spiders) So now I know what they look like (and what their real name is), and I'd feed myself to the musky if I saw that in the boat.
