Gidday,

I was wondering if anyone has fished Lac Gagnon which is north of Duhamel, Quebec. I am interested to know if the fishing is good and what type of species are there. Looking to maybe fish it this summeréfall.

I have fished it a few years ago and we were chasing lakers and ouananiche (land lock salmon).

I believe there is also pike and bass in the lake but I can't confirm as I only fished it a few times during ice out.

Good luck

I rented a beautiful cottage on that lake 2 summers in a row. I was marking fish everywhere while trolling but could not catch them. I'd like to try it for bass though now. You have to go to end of the lake (opposite end of the sand beaches) and canoe up the little river to the falls. You can walk for a long ways along that little creek/river through the forest and see some amazing wilderness waterfalls.

Good luck and let us know what you catch.

Hey Mike, where is Duhamel Quebec? Is it up by Laferendre(sp) Park? :?

Duhamel is north of Buckingham. About 1 to 1.5 hours from Ottawa.

it's 20min from lac Simon which is a more popular area.

Another thing you may want to consider is the touris area has now put in a 25$ charge for washing your boat and a 20$ charge to launch your boat.

Minimum 45$ to get in the water on either lac Gagnon or lac Simon.

Both of these ramps are gated and only open at 8:00am so for those that want to go for an early fish you have to show up the day before not going to happen anymore.

Hey Carlco,

You've got to be kidding. $45!!!! That may change things on whether I fish the lake. You wouldn't happen to know why they inacted this charge? Was it because there was too much boat traffic and they wanted to curb it?

The boat wash is to control Zebra mussells. although pretty steep!

The boat launch is a money grab from the municipality as none of the profits go for stocking the lake. It's another association that does the stocking.

Gidday Pierre-Paul,

Nice fish! Do you know if there are any other species than trout in this lake. ie are there pike, bass, perch, walleye? Carlco thought that maybe there was pike and bass, but wasn't sure.

Gidday Pierre-Paul,

Thanks for your help. Just curious in case the trout aren't biting whether I can target other species.
