Baitfish Fishing Report ;)

I went to a small local lake close to Montreal and I managed to catch almost every baitfish I have ever used.
This is a lake that is stocked by the city every June with rainbow trout but I guess that there are no other predatory fish there once the lake is fished out (by late summer).
I caught suckers, fathead minnows and even golden shiners. The lake was also full of tadpoles.
I had to snip off the tails of some 8 year old cream plastic earthworms and use a tiny hook to catch the little guys. It reminded me of my youth in the south using small breadballs to catch hundreds of panfish per day.
The baitfish were averaging 6-8" so I don't think the rainbows will be eating them anytime soon. I was thinking it would be interesting to release a pike or two in there to cull the herd, but I in no way would introduce a non-native species without consent from Quebec.
