Madawaska Muskie opener

Fishboch and I headed out to try our luck. My first year with the boat, and the first season for both of us targetting ski's.

I had a follow very early (low 30's in length), Fishboch hooked one up and brought him boatside (both casting). We trolled for a while with nothing to show for it, then I landed this sorry specimen. This ol' junkyard dog either has VHS or fell through a meat grinder. 36 inches though -kinda an oversize head, pretty sure it has seen better days.

Lure was a red/black bucktail with twin bronze colorados, twin blades seem to help keep the cabbage out of this lure....

Nice colors on the fish despite being slightly tore up.

This is the first muskie I have heard anyone post about catching this season. Must have been a tough opener for them.

Thanks for posting. 8)

I can't imagine it being anything but another Muskie that attacked the poor fellow but a nice way to start the season!
