Been collecting antique level winds recently and was looking all over for a cheap display case for them . Size i wanted would cost me well over a $150.
Decided to give it a whirl with some old shelving i had laying around and here is my start and where i left off at with total cost being $13 so far!

Plan on adding a framed window, lights, carry handles, legs, and lock.
Will post more when done, hopefully price should be around $50 when done :D Might even add some lures and an old rod in it.

Nice case! I may have to take another look around the basement and see about those reels.

Anyone know where i can find v angled brass trim? I completed case but wanted to line inside of box with it for felt to hold in better. Tried Canadain Tire,Home Hardware, and Rona ..no luck. Added new link to picture of finished project above.

What about buying a length of piano hinge ( I think is what it is called) it is a length of hinge that folds both directions...It will have a few holes in it but it will form around the edges to hold the felt in...If this works it will look like thishttp://www.monroeengineering.com/hinges ... /linkImage
