Hey Musky Guys...My soon to be wife has told me that the day of my wedding is open for me to fish Musky...My best man and I will be heading out to Arnprior for some good ole Ottawa River musky and I just wanted to know how the bite has been so far. Now I know the river opens this Friday and I will be out Saturday morning till about 2pm..and then off to the wedding for the end of my current life. A nice Musky would make this day even more special. I guess the only area open near Arnprior right now is the Madawaska and we could fish there if need be. We would either launch from the Head Pond or the Launch near White lake ( Sand Banks Park or something like that) I think is what they call it??? Anyway IS the bite good and what should I use to catch my first ever Musky.
Thanks Guys

Hello i will give you some ideas , i would go see Gord @ Bits and Baits ,
Pick your self up a Fudully Hawg spin, i think there around 18 bucks , troll this bait at 4mph along weed edges and drop offs , You can also cast this bait as well. The second bait i would look at getting is the rumbler top water for a good cover water casting bait retrive with a slow constant relling motion . Never stop the bait till you feel the fish ( even after a miss) this will give you a much better chance at a hook up.
And most important Let em Go Let em Grow !!!

best of luck

CONGRATS ON THE BIG DAY!!! (and if she's letting you go musky fishing on the big day she sounds like one heck of a good woman.)
Unfortunately I am not the guy to give advice about Musky... Not by a long shot.
But my wife gave me the same option (Salmon fishing though) on our wedding day. 2 extra Large tim hortons, 4 beer and 3 personal best Chinook later and it's time to get married.

Wedding day fishing luck served me well, I'm considering poligamy.
GOOD LUCK.
(and I hope you do well fishing too)

Ah...... Beware the Trojan Horse Almonte!

This could be used against you as a very valuable tid-bit of ammunition that will be un-leashed on your @$$ at any time in the future in an argument that has absolutely nothing to do with fishing.

I can hear it now,,, " Oh Yeah? Well your the S.O.B that had the insensitivety to go Fishing on our wedding day!"
She wins!

Congrats!! All the best.
