Are you looking for spots in the Ottawa area or while you're traveling to Ottawa? In the case of the latter you'll have to let us know where you're traveling from?

The Rideau River flows past, near all three universities. Carleton, Ottawa, St. Paul's.

You can find spots using the link above from matcolecat.

Hey Ottawa fishermen,
Any other spots on the ottawa river and more to the west , around Kanata , Dunrobin, please share them with me.
This year is my first year fishing and I love it but has no boat yet.

Cheers

If you change your route, take highway 7 instead and you will pass a many lakes and rivers. Silver lake comes to mind.

I myself prefer highway 7 instead of the 416, a little better scenery.

Ya, I think hwy 7 is a bit faster too. Come up through peterborough is the way I used to do it. more hassle dealing with 2 lane traffic though.

However, if yer come up the 401/416: ya can fish right under the 416 bridge on the north side of the Rideau. From T.O. you'd go past the Rideau, turn right on Dilwerth, go down a bit (1/2k?) take the first right, that'll take you back to the river, you'll dead end against the 416 there's a farmers field, you can either park at the end of the road or if yer lazy, go left down the lane into the field and park closer to the river.

There's bass and musky to fish for. Might bag a wally, but those aussies are hard to catch.
