Went out on Tuesday with MuskyMike on the Ottawa near Rockland, I never caught a darn thing all day, MuskyMike got into a few bass as well as some pike, we changed up our location and on the second cast i get into this beauty, believe me it was worth the wait,With only a medium action rod and 10 lb test line it took awhile to get her into the boat, we took a few pictures and back into the water she went, we didn't even bother to measure/weigh her, didn't need to, it sure made my day[img]

nice fish!!
I can see why you would be hooked on Muskie fishing.
Maybe you would like to attend next months Muskie Canada meeting in Bells corners.
A lot of good info on proper holding and the advantages to both you and the fish regarding fighting them with the proper tackle.
I don't mean to be negative but after a 1/2 hr fight that fish probably didn't survive , even though it might have swam off, the light tackle just doesn't cut it.
Knowing a little more will increase your fun and chances of hooking up on a biggie.
If you are interested you can email me at
mattclay@rogers.com and discuss joining me as a guest in Sept.
Cheers
Matt Clay

Thanks for the invite muskymatt, but starting the first week of September I'm back working nights for another year so I guess I'II have to pass. I was using my other rod when i hooked him and tried to get him to the boat as quik as i could, but believe me when that thing swam away there's no doubt that he was going to be okay.(I have a nice sliced thumb to prove it )I haven't had that much fun since salmon fishing where i come from.Just kinds of makes all the other fishes seem eh small. I hooked into one last year as well , so if i can catch one a year I'II take that, it's feels good to let a fish like that swimm away knowing that it will make someones else day, i know it sure as hell made mine
