Online prices for new boats?
Online prices for new boats?
Hi,
Trying to decide if a new boat is within my budget. I ordered catalogs for Lund, PrinceCraft and Skeeter brands. Now I need to know an MSRP price of these boats. Is there any online place to get prices without going to a dealer? I don;t need the sales pressure similar to buying a car.

if you go to the tracker website or the legend you will see their prices, you can figure lund will be a little more expensive. check out boats.com, they have some prices but most say see dealer. Depends what you are looking for I find that most manufacturers have similar models, so if you can find the price of one, at least it will give you a ball park figure.

Hello,
If you go to the Tracker Boatswebsite you can calculate all the prices once you enter you postal code under the Build a Boat section. You can select upgrades, motor HP etc. Tracker has a no Haggle no Hassle approach so you get no pressure from sales staff as all the boat prices are set by corporate office.
Print out the spec and price of your boat and take it to a dealer and they have to match the price from the website. In the Ottawa area George's Marine & Sports is the authorised Tracker dealer.
If you would like a test ride or any information about Tracker Boats or Mercury just send me a PM. I also like to talk fishing
Have fun shopping.

I own a LUND. Have owned other makes but I love my LUND.
I dealt with Raisin River Marine out of Lancaster.
They were extremely helpful and applied no sales pressure. In fact the lady running the place insisted that I shop around and look at other boats and dealers. She said that I seemed to know what I wanted in a boat and was certain I would be back to LUND. She was right. If it's LUND you decide on give them a call. You won't be sorry.

hello
The only problem I had with my legend is all the nuts and bolts that hold the live well covers and storage covers and decking all came off from driving down rough roads. I guess they where thinking people only pull them on highways. I replaced all the bolts with stover nuts and stainless bolts never had a problem since. Either than that the boat is awesome.

You can also check out www.crestliner.com they have a build your boat option. You can then e-mail Andre Lalonde marine to get a price.
Crestliners are up there with the Lunds when it comes to the best aluminum boats.

I too am in the search for a new boat. I am undecided between a Lund and a Princecraft. I like the Princecraft Yukon model having used them at Quebec fishing camps with a 15hp motor.
But I have always wanted a Lund boat, and for the extra money may chose the WC-14 DLX. The dealer suggested using a 20HP motor, so that the boat will plane out. But I am concerned that I will not be able to troll slowly enough for spring walleye, a major factor in MY fishing boat.
Please send me your comments, thanks!

The new 4 strokes, merc in particular will hit that 1.9 - 2.0 mph speed for trolling spring eyes. And crazy good on fuel too.

I'll go the complete opposite route and highly suggest Orleans Boat World.

Re:
I've owned 7 boats from 6 different brands. Legend does not build hulls which makes it very important to find out who build the model you're interested in. I had a 16.5' 2003 Legend (full windshield fish and ski model) that was built by Smokercraft. It was a riveted boat and while it was OK, I wouldn't have bought another because it tended to pound in the waves and felt not terribly solid. I now own a 2012 Legend 18 Xtreme which is a fully welded hull build by Starcraft. This thing is very solid and runs remarkably smooth in waves up to a couple feet. I have friends with Lunds, Crestliners and Princecrafts (lots of those since I often boat in Quebec) and their opinion of my new boat has been very positive. One of those friends drove my boat (pulling me and others on a tube) and afterwards said "I shouldn't have driven your boat... I used to like mine alot".bm_attar wrote:Thanks a lot for the info. I remember read here that some of the rivets on Legends come lose or something like that. Is that something to worry about?
Legends are "one price" so spec them out online. You can get a motor other than Mercury if you tell the dealer "I won't buy it unless it has a <brand X> motor on it". That's all they need to wave the "Mercury Only" engine requirement. The dealer in Orleans also sells Evinrude. Hint

I've come close to buying Lunds, Crestliners and Princecrafts in the past - they're all solid boats. I must say that every used Lund I looked at (more than 10) was wet/musty inside the compartments. Can't help but conclude they don't dry out well after a trip in the rain.

Good info Brian, and that's why I suggest making the trip to Orleans Boat World, they'll spec it out and give you all the info you need in regards to the model you prefer.bcjohnso99 wrote:

The experience is nothing close to a pressured car lot....
