My daughters first fishing trip

I went out to Dows Lake this afternoon with my 3 year old daughter. It was her first fishing trip and she was pretty excited to get out there. We walked past the marina along the west shore to some benches and got settled in. I had some worms and we started trying differant spots, but no fish.

She was pretty interested for about 30-40 minutes, but all of the people and dogs going by was too much. She was soon sitting in the grass eating "Cracker Jack" and drinking some water, wanting to go home. I still had to make dinner so it was a good time. I still had a bit of worm on my hook so I tried on more spot on our way to the car. The bobber instantly went under and we had a fish on. Naturally she has her hands full with food and drink, but I got her to set it down while I reeled it to shore. I handed her the rod and she was pretty excited with the fight. She lifted it on shore and we had a bluegill, she was more curious than anything else. I couldn't get her to hold it, so a passing couple offered to take a photo for us.

We had a great time and will do it again soon. I hope that this is only the beginning with many more trips to come.
Thanks Joco for the information, Dows Lake was perfect.
