I'm Thankful For...(NOTE: lots o' pics)
I hope all of you had a very nice Thanksgiving holiday.
I got away with my "pack" (including my Mom) for the long wknd. It was good to be back at the cottage after a long absence now that school has started.
Here are some things I'm thankful for:
A nice largemouth I pulled out near the pads on a Scumfrog (thx Bowzog & Slushy).
Bass were in "summer mode" still, hitting surface lures. I lost a few good ones, and I think my success rate on hook-ups to boating them was less than 25%. @#$%^!
Tiny Torpedo's good smallie -- tempted by a Torpedo, of course.
This pike, around 27+" was actually boated by Tyler as well...(he's getting too good)...but was feisty and he opted out of handling it. Smashed a plastic worm next to the boat and made the drag scream. Fun stuff.
Shane's perch, caught on a beautiful fall afternoon (w/ worm & bobber).
I'm always thankful for opportunities to view nature. Here are some gulls on what we call "Guano Rock" -- there are a couple of Mergansers in there, too.
A misty autumn morning shot...
A pretty marsh near our cottage:
We took a 2-mile walk one afternoon (just Brian, Tyler & I) and were rewarded for our efforts by this fantastic view. A slice o' Heaven for sure. Here's a shot looking N.W. over Wolfe:
Looking South...
I'm very thankful for my Mom, who had to have an emergency procedure for a big blockage in August. She's doing better now. We actually drove her to this lookout sight -- no more 2-mile walks for her, but we knew this view would knock her socks off. I'm especially thankful for the 2 little rugrats in the background. Notice they are not standing still; they rarely are, by choice.
It was a good few days. We pulled out the hoist with the help of our ATV on Monday. The boat's back here in NY, and the dock will come out in the next couple of weeks. UGH. Depressing.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the pic's, which I managed to upload and post without losing the thread for once.

Awesome report and pictures Wolfe The winter away from the cottage won't feel so long if you post those pictures where you can see them everyday. The weekend sure created some great memories that Tyler and Shane will carry thru to next spring at the cottage. You are right...much to give thanks for and thankyou for the great report.
