Yes senkos work well. Once you start playing with senko style worms you will find many types to play with. I like using them wacky rigged and had a great week using Yum Dingers this summer. All the largemouth bass we caught over 5lbs were caught on them.

The last 2 years I have taken 3 tackle boxes for a week on white lake. 90% of my bass have been on the senkos. We fish them wacky in the open areas and weedless around structure.

What size and colors do you have success with. I seem to favor bubblegum amd chartreusse in the darker waters. We've even caught giant smallmouth on these suckers. I've never tried the YUM baits. Are they comparable to the Senko?

Yum are definetly comparable in action, colors, size, preference by fish, the only part that they are not comparable is the steap price of the Senkos.

I have done the swimming pool test and you can certainly see the ends of the senko worm wiggle when on the drop. Mister twister, Bass pro shops and other copies do not have the action at all comparible to the Senko. I'll have to try the yum dinger. Colors or preferences?

The YUM version are way cheaper than the Yamamotos. The WaveWorm and Phenix versions cost between the YUM and the Yamamoto. BPS has their own versions as well. The action and texture of the YUM and WaveWorm are similiar to the Yamamoto. The Phenix version is stiffer and the wiggle is not as obvious as the others but Phenix is the only one I buy in a 100 pack.
I use all those brands but the Yamamotos only come out at tournament time.....
If you are wacky rigging, try sliding a rubber "O" ring over the senko and slide the hook between the "O" ring and the senko. The "O" ring should be snug. You will find the senko will last much longer.....

I too am an advocate of the senko and senko style baits. I do find the BPS ones to be a little better than the others, but that's just my preference. I typically prefer the Baby Bass, Black/Blue fleck, and Chartreuse. Not too keen on the whites or pinks though.
Great bait that can be worked in many ways.
BTW, the Florida bass I caught on Lake Davenport.......6" Yum Dinger. Seems that was the only artificial they'd take down there.

I just started using these Senkos this year. Thanks to the folks on this site. I agree they are awesome. Tested them in a pool... MMMMM I work at a place with a 50 metre pool. I think I might have to try using them in the pool just to check out the action. Yo buddy get out of the fast lane can't you see I'm working on my presentation? Ya I think that might work. I had better go weedless. Just in case.

Ok Bobber now I can see again..thats why I keep my shirt on.

I found the darker colours worked well with a 2 tone purple/blk working best this summer..red shad was my goto colour.

Although I've tried a few bags of senko style baits from different manufactures, I still come back to Yamamoto.
I have ordered a few bags of Wackos from Wacky Worm to be evaluated next year. I like a few colors that the Wackos come in. Hopefully I'll be as pleased with the action as well.
I tend to favor smoke with something and watermelon with something. I also like a metallic or holographic flash in the bait too.
The one thing I find most interesting is that the "go to" colors that have been mentioned are all somewhat different. Maybe that's the difference in the bodies of water we fish. The bulk of my fishing was on Charleston and the Big Rideau.

When I figure out how to get pics off my new camera, I will post them for proof - but I caught my 3 personal best LMB this year - 2 in August one in October on Senko's and Yum Dingers rigged wacky style 5 inch worked best for me on most days but on two cold days the 4 inches outfished 5 inches (honestly - the difference I found between the real senkos and the Yum Dingers were that the Senkos's lasted longer - so there is probably a ROI calculation you could do to see if the increased cost of the originals is offset by their durability)
Best colours for me have been Red Shad and Green Pumpkin with Watermelon flakes
They were deadly - in any cover - in a week I caught more keeper LMB and SMB's than I had in the enitre 6 years prior
I like the #2 Gami circle hook to rig them wacky
