Last Trip of the Year

Well I decided today would be my last trip of the year in my boat

, long range forecast shows snow is coming and I don't want to tow it in the salt. Anyways I decided to head to Muskrat in hopes of a big smallie. Lake was smooth as glass and it has also gone down probably another foot since last weekend making launching tough. I caught one in the first 5 mins but it wasn't what I was looking for but it was a first for me

it was a nice little laker on a tube

( I know it's OOS but I never caught one before and it was released quickly) Then I caught a nice smallie that just touched 4 lbs.

I then caught a whole buch of small fish under 2 lbs and tons of rock bass

I even had one that weighed 1lb.1 oz on the digital scale (sorry no pic) I then saw the new star attraction of Cobden

THE GOATS!!!!!!!!!!!
Right near the end of my day I caught my big fish for the day which went 4lbs 3 oz.
The fish still seem to be scattered and all the better fish came from 20 -26 FOW. So now my first season with the new boat is over,(Just in time because GAS is going through the roof), time to put her to sleep

Can't believe the girths on those fish -- like they're pumped full of helium. Very nice!
Ah, and the goats again.
A good (last) trip for the season.

Nice Smallies.
Is it my eyes or a trick of the camera, both smallies appear to have a pink hue to their bellies.

I think the pink color is because I was wearing my Red floater suit and I was right beside the fish when I was taking pictures. These fish were really fat though!!!!!!! They were puking up crayfish parts like crazy. I think they are going to turn on real good there soon, and I won't be able to be there. Oh well, now it's time to finish my shed and start pouring baits for next year.

Inflated is right. Like, maybe swim bladder inflated from being brought up from the depths... looks like maybe a bit of intestines being pushed out of the anal vent in one of those shots. Nice bass though...did she swim away ok?

Actually none of those fish came from any deeper than 25ft. I was using light gear and didn't reel them in real fast either. They all swam away perfect and I always check to make sure they stay down and don't need fizzed. The one fish is actually crapping stuff out in the pic. He crapped all over my boat when I brought him in the net, made a mess of my nice clean carpets

. I didn't keep them out of the water to long either, I had the camera ready and as soon as I took the hook out, I took the pic and put them back.

Marty,
Sorry to hear about your carpets...something tells me you didn't mind too much though! Really nice bass. Super fat.

very nice fish
I agree about the pinkish hue being a reflection from your red suit...you can see the reflection on the reel as well.

Nice Footballs

, fall fishing Smallies at its best. Looks like the Smallie population is a lot more healthy than the Lakers.
Hard water is certainly coming,

.
Cheers
