Hey everyone,
Just so you all know and you won't be concerned: If you have an Ontario Outdoors Card with a 2007 expiry date and you call or go on the internet to renew it, you will (For the time being) get a message that says that your card is not renewable. You will be receiving a renewal package in the mail later this month, after you receive that package, the system will be set up to renew those cards either by mail, kiosk, phone system or internet. So please be patient.
The fastest way to recieve your card, once you recieve your package, is by phone or internet.
Best fishes,
Matt

Thanks Matt!
Are you actually an MNR man? I didn't know that. If so, thanks a million for letting us know what's happening. If not and Almontefisher is just making a joke....well....thanks anyway.
Cheers,

Hey Alain!
The job is treating me great (Bobber I sent you a PM regarding my MNR status). This is a pretty busy time of year for us with the renewals and all, as a working man I don't get in nearly enough fishing for my liking but I guess that's the way things go...

I work right beside a the Ontonabee river and I come down and watch big carp swimming around at lunch, it's pretty cruel actually. I hope to start fishing for them a little harder next year after I find somewhere around here that sells decent carp gear.
Thanks again for getting me out that one time, sorry I couldn't set you up with a little gar fishing for your trouble, but I hear there's some in the Trent so we might have a chance sometime.
Hopefully I'll get out and have a report for you all soon.
Best fishes,
Matt

OK guys,
If you have the fishing version of the Outdoors card that expires Dec 31 2007 you can now renew it through the internet or telephone systems! For those of you with the hunting versions of the Outdoors Card you should be able to renew it through the internet or phone systems next week. Let's get those cards renewed so that we can all be out fishing legally at first ice!
I'll try to keep you posted,
Best fishes,
Matt

Thanks Matt,
This is great. I've been looking for an MNR contact for a while now who would actually participate and help us out with little bits of information like this.
I, as well as everyone else here I'm sure, thank you very much. It may be a small step towards more MNR involvement, but we'll take it for sure.
Cheers and let me know if there is anything I can do to help the MNR get any messages out there they'd like communicated.

Okay, well thanks. Not to be rude, but that wasn't really necessary. I just wish the MNR would spend more time enforcing the rules. Especially on a web-site where I'm sure 99.9% of the people viewing are following the 'suggestions' given by the MNR.

Explain please. Your post doesn't make sense to me. I think we all wish the MNR had the resources to spend more time enforcing the rules, and being out there to catch the people who are not following them, unfortunately they don't. That's not much of a secret.
I'm more than happy to have a representative on this site who is willing to go the extra mile and provide us all with information from the MNR, no matter how small it may be. I just don't understand what point you're trying to make. Can you clarify please.
thanks,
