Looking for a good place to go ice fishing. Haven't done that in over 30 years. I was thinking some place not to far from Smiths Falls because if your driving your not fishing.
I heard there was nice size crappies and also walleye and pike in Mississippi lake . Does anyone know how far it is from Smith Falls?
Also heard there was a current in the lake. Wonder if that affects the ice?

I don't have a snow machine so I will be walking. Might take my 5 year old garand daughter once in a while to so the fishing needs to be active even if small just to keep her attention. Has to have bigger fish also just to keep my attention. Is that asking to much from a lake :?:

Popper, current definately has an effect on ice. Current is definately present in Mississippi Lake. I hate to say it...you may want to leave your precious 5 year old grandaughter at home until you have done some scouting and fishing on your own. Grasshopper Point(Conc 9a) may be a good spot to try, providing there is plenty of good ice. Play safe out there!

Thanks for the tips guys. Thanks for your concern Slop. I don't intend to be foolish and when the ice is a 8 inches thick you may see a guy dragging a 5 year old over the ice in an inflated rubber raft. That will be me. I am constantly being accused of being over protective.
