The perch bite is great........if you're into 3-4" microperch.  .....that's all I get when fishing there, along with the odd slab. :)

Hey buddy at Long Island Locks the perch bite is on steady with all the little perch mixed with some jumbo up to 13" 8) with some slabs here and there. I find the perch bite are better on shallow water like 10' to 8' of water. And theres the pumpkinseeds and bluegills as well biting pretty good. And if put tip-up on shallow water you could catch some pike to.

Theres about 10 inches with 6" of black ice. If you go good luck.

The perch bite is on, but are the perch good from those waters?

I spent a wickedly cold morning today on Mississippi Lake. My first Ontario Lake outing since moving here this fall. The good thing was I was very busy. I had a hard time keeping the LM and SM Bass off of my perch jigs but after moving into deeper water I was able to land over 20 perch (several nice ones) and 3 not-so-bad pumpkinseeds. I had a lot of fun and was planning to have a perch fry (like I remembered as a kid) when I got home this afternoon so I kept 7 of the bigger ones. To my dismay :x they and the three pumpkins were full of critters that I am not used to seeing.

I have heard that perch in Constance Lake and parts of the Ottawa River also have worms. Are there any local waters in that the perch are worm free ?
