is there any people in here that think they will get a kayak to fish this summer.?

or at least try it to no if they do like it.?

I hope to see more people coming wit us this year.

would be fun to make some nice outhing is some remote area.

or some 2 day trip ouside the regions.

or even some little derbys etc.


and not just kayak.....canoes to...........paddling events.

hey 24/7.

even in a kayak if you scream .MONSTER.they still will be scare..

but its a lot better then in a motor boat...

no sound...no smoke no gas fumes..no nead for boat launch...so can go some remote lake,,where nother boat can go.

but its not for all..,,,and do no boat have there plus to..like speed..comfort and all.

its is just a deferent way off fishing...

i just to see more people to at least try it.

jst to say .april.sometime still ice on the lakes at trout opening..the water is dangerously cold...we do have to keep that in mind.

usely its a wet suit or some kind off suit kind off water temp.

i lost a budy about 6 years ago.he was canoeing on the 31 miles lake at the openeing lakers season.flip and did not make to shore..

we can have fun.but we do have to be carefull..safety is the 1 thing...make sher we all come back safely.................wit are trout limits. .

Canoe for me. I can't fit the dog, kid and wife in a kayak.

canoe are more spacious.true.

but there some kayak now that are spacious and more stable then canoe....

but i still love my canoes..there just deferent.but still a lot off fun paddling and can hold more stuff.

but ex the one i have...no problme to have 2 people and a small dog.

I moved out east this fall and have been reading many of your posts on yak fishing. So as the resident expert can yo tell me if there any local distributors or shops that rent out yaks so a guy can try one first?

There must be some that are more stable than others but in doing so do you have to compromise on weight? If she is too heavy it could be a long walk in and then out at the end of the day...

actualy almost every kayak shop around here have demo nights an some demo all day long.

you go to there store and say you want to try one kayak or two..then they will bring them to a place ,usely a beach then you got to try them free.

that is the best way , try them and see whitch one you like the most.

little anecdote.my wife baught her first kayak last year,,wen she went to that shop in hull to see some kayak they send her to try 4 kayak at lake leamay in hull free.the first one that she was realy hook at it..thats the obe she was looking to buy she get on to a little turn on lake,,bend a bit to see in the lake spalsh she flip.. ..that was the end off that kayak....flew in air.. ..but all this to explane that was the kayak she like the look ,,but was no good for her.

so the best ,try them before you get one..plus its free why not.

and all those place rent some...not expensive to.

sometime renting is even better.at least you can no how you feel after your in the kayak for 3 or 4 hours..you have to be comfortable...if your not you wont use it.

Thanks dude, I guess I have a bit of time to locate a shop and check out the options. I have wanted to try float boats for a while now but this may be the ticket.

For now, I am loving the hard water and mild weather.
