LM & SM bass, lakers, walleye, pike & pan fish. We used to catch our walleye in the Madawaska river. My buddy used to go up into the York river for LM bass fishing. There are some huge bolder flats on the lake that smallies like to live in. Hope this helps.

There are two islands that are basically where the madawaska leaves the lake. Good SM bass fishing there. Further out from the islands, it drops deep and there are lakers in there. I have not boated one but we have had some hits and my buddy broke off a big one ( copper mooseluck). I remember the hook because I gave it to him about 5 minutes prior to him hooking this fish. My buddy rents cottages on Kaminiskeg and he took us the other way one day, down the madawaska. You cross under the highway and enter a huge marsh ( approx 30 miles). He tells me it is really good for big pike. It is from this marsh that you can get to the Yorke river. Get directions because you have to go through lots of channels in the marsh to get to the Yorke. We are planning one day next summer to see how far up the yorke we can get. I heard there is Musky in the Yorke.

Cheers,

Steve
