My first brown ever

I finally have something to brag about for this ice fishing season. The pike have been steering clear of me so we tried for something else. The first order of the day was moving the ice hut back home. With some of the crazy weather being forecast for this week, we thought we'd better get it off the ice now.
It was such a nice day, we decided to put in a couple hours fishing after getting the hut off the lake, so we headed for lake "B". The fishing was pretty slow at first, but then we started seeing some blips on the Marcum. Some little nibbles later and we started pulling in some rock bass and tiny pumpkinseed.
Started thinkin' "gee, there's got to be some bigger stuff in this lake", when BAM! (as Emeril would say), my little panfish popper doubled over. I was reeling it in but it kept taking drag, all the time I was hoping my little 3lb test would handle it. Bowzog kept saying Oh you got something big there. As it came closer to the hole, we saw the size and couldn't believe it. It took a few runs before finally poking its head up the hole. Up and outta the hole and onto the snow came this beauty of a brown trout, my first ever!

We quickly took the hook out, brushed the snow off, took a few pics and back down the hole it went. We didn't take the time to measure it, but we estimate is was 22-23 inches long. I think I can safely say that this one will be my personal best brown for a long time!
That was the only one caught today, with a few more rock bass and sunfish caught before we decided to pack up and head home. BTW, the brown was caught on a gold 1/32 hornet grub with a white Mizmo Specs tube and a small chunk of dew worm.
