What are people catching at Kingston Mills this time of year?

As I was driving through Kingston Mills yesterda, I saw a couple of anglers heading down to the lower side of the locks with an auger and ice gear in hand... I would have expected very poor ice conditions on the lower side, heading out to the Cataraqui river...

Anyone have any ideas?

They were headed down to commit suicide

Im sure you could fish from the docks there at the mills lower locks.

They would have been fishing for pan fish. But im sure they dident need the ice auger?
