I pretty much got the whole ice fishing thing down to a tee and have taking in and learned a lot along the way in recent years from the folks who got me started. But then again there is so much I don't know..You learn something new everyday. Here are a few things that will help things go a lot smoother come next winter.
Fish-Traps don't just fit in trucks and vans but ontop of cars!
Icewells swallow the legs and feet of many and need to marked off regardless of how secluded the area is your fishing
Purchase a rod locker for all 8 combos(And the new ones on the way

) so the reps at St.Croix don't burn down my house...
When fishing crappie on smaller, less pressured lakes, don't even bother until the sun goes down.
ALWAYS have a first-aid kit on hand.
When walleye fishing deeper water mid-day, bigger fish always seem to be suspended more than a few feet off of the bottom and will crush your bait out of nowhere. You won't even mark them most of the time. Fish shallow and all will catch are piggies ( I can't even imagine what a school of BOQ walleye passing through on my vexilar would look like

)
Run and gunning always pays off.
