I am also excited to report that I have accepted the position of National Team - Pro Staff for Kistler Canada, and I look forward to working with this progressive company as they make their mark on the Canadian fishing scene.

LOCAL FISHING STORE BRINGS WORLD-CLASS KISTLER RODS TO OTTAWA AREA


Ottawa, ON. – March 11, 2008 - - Bait Casters, a fishing tackle retailer located on the shore of Mississippi Lake in Perth, Ontario, has become the first Canadian store to carry the Kistler brand of fishing rods. Owned by Mike and Crystal Brown, Bait Casters is a friendly and inviting “one stop shop” that will cater to all of your fishing, hunting, and marine needs.

Kistler rods was founded nine years ago by Trey Kistler in Magnolia, Texas. In that time, he has built one of the most trusted and innovative names in fishing rod manufacturing. The extensive lineup of rods includes the Graphite Plus (Freshwater and Inshore), Magnesium Technique Specific, Helium LTA (Freshwater and Inshore) and Helium II LTX.

We are very excited to be the first Canadian dealer of Kistler rods and are looking forward to showing them off at both our instore promotion on March 29th/30th and at the Carp Fishing Show April 11-13th.
There are already a few lucky fishermen who will have one of these rods in their boats this year!
With 4 rod lines there is a price point for almost everyone and they are certainly the lightest most sensitive rods on the market!

I visited the Kistler web site and perused through the freshwater fishing rods, in particular the worm and jig rods as well as the specialty fishing rods. I saw only one rod classified as medium light. There were a few rods classified as medium and a bunch classified as heavy. When I selected the medium light rod to get more information, there was no information about the weight of the rod. Perhaps information like that is in the catalogue.

Glad to hear you checked out the website. In terms of actual weight of the rods - that is one specification that very few, if any, manufacturer's publish.

The entire lineup of Kistler rods are super light-weight. The Helium LTA's are proven to weigh less than any other comparable graphite rod in the world. The brand new Helium LTX's are even lighter than the LTA's.

The best recommendation I can give is to check out the stock at Bait Casters, or stop by the Carp show to try out the different models and lines.

And if there are any particular models you would like to see at the Show, just let me know, and I'll do my best to make sure they are there.

Thanks for responding Justin. Part of my problem was that I couldn't seem to find any Kistler rods that would compare with either a St Croix TWS66MLF or a St Croix PS60MLF for walleye jigging. I'll definitely stop by Baitcasters at the Carp Show to have a look see.
